Islamabad, September 11, 2025 —
A grand pre-launch ceremony of the 3rd Pakistan Hajj & Umrah Exhibition 2025 was held at Islamabad Hotel today, with Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, attending as the chief guest. The event was also graced by Prime Minister’s Coordinator for Commerce & Industry, Rana Ehsan Malik, and Chairman Shariah Board of HBL, Mufti Zubair Ashraf Usmani, as special guests.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Sardar Muhammad Yousaf underlined the significance of the exhibition, stressing that the recently passed Umrah Act will be strictly enforced to prevent exploitative practices, including the misuse of pilgrim visas. He said pilgrims represent Pakistan as ambassadors and must strictly respect Saudi laws and local regulations. He emphasized that Hajj and Umrah are sacred journeys of worship and should not be reduced to commercial or leisure trips. He also urged greater focus on enhancing Pakistan’s exports to Saudi Arabia during the pilgrimage seasons.
The Minister noted that the Hajj & Umrah Expo would bring tangible benefits, including the training of master trainers, promotion of the Islamic economy, and expansion of exports. He assured full support from the Ministry of Religious Affairs to Maassalama Pvt. Ltd., the organizing company of the exhibition.
Rana Ehsan Malik highlighted the immense opportunities within the Hajj & Umrah industry, urging Pakistani companies to adopt a more proactive role, while assuring them of government support. Rana Aftab, MD of PTDC, stressed that pilgrims serve as ambassadors of their country and called for the training of tour operators to ensure better guidance for pilgrims. HOAP Coordinator Haji Sanaullah Khan, Mufti Zubair Ashraf Usmani, and other dignitaries echoed the importance of discipline, training, and compliance with Saudi instructions.
The 3rd Pakistan Hajj & Umrah Exhibition 2025 will be held from October 24–26, 2025 at the Pak–China Friendship Centre, Islamabad. The event is being hosted by Maassalama Pvt. Ltd. in collaboration with PTDC, Rawalpindi Chamber of Small Traders & Small Industries (RCSTSI), Riphah International University, Islamic Research Institute, International Islamic University Islamabad, NIC Peshawar, Ignite National Technology Fund, and Orbit Events, among others.
The exhibition will feature participation from Saudi Hajj & Umrah companies, hotels, airlines, transport and telecom firms, as well as Pakistani banks, airlines, telecom operators, digital service providers, hotel accessory manufacturers, and Islamic product companies. PTDC and Maassalama will also introduce specialized training programs for pilgrims and service providers to improve Hajj & Umrah operations in line with Islamic and Eastern traditions.
Representatives from major banks, airlines, and telecom companies — including HBL, Meezan Bank, Bank Islami, MCB, Bank Alfalah, Serene Air, Emirates, Flynas, Airblue, Zong, Telenor, and Jazz — attended the ceremony. Participants stressed that the exhibition will mark a milestone in developing Pakistan’s Hajj & Umrah industry, promoting religious tourism, boosting exports to Saudi Arabia, and strengthening Pakistan’s economy and international relations.
