Islamabad, September 10: Auditor General of Pakistan, Mr. Muhammad Ajmal Gondal, paid a farewell call on President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr today.

The President appreciated the reforms introduced by the Auditor General’s office to enhance efficiency, transparency, and service delivery, while commending its constitutional role in strengthening financial discipline and accountability. He underscored the need to adopt modern practices, including technology-based audits, to further improve fiscal governance and curb corruption.

Mr. Gondal briefed the President on initiatives taken during his tenure, such as impact audits, citizen participatory audits, and digitization reforms, which have made the Auditor General’s Department more transparent, inclusive, and responsive to public expectations.

Acknowledging his contributions in strengthening Pakistan’s financial accountability system, the President conveyed best wishes for Mr. Gondal’s future endeavors.
