Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah has on Wednesday paid an emergency visit to Bannu district along with the Inspector General of Police Zulfiqar Hameed and Commandant FC Muhammad Rayan Nazir following a militant attack on the FC Lines, the other day.
They attended the funeral prayers of the security personnel killed in the assault, paid tribute to the martyrs and prayed for their souls. Shah said the sacrifices of the fallen would not be forgotten and vowed that every drop of their blood would be accounted for.
The Chief Secretary also visited the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Bannu to inquire after the health of the wounded personnel and directed doctors to ensure the best possible treatment. Shah praised the injured soldiers’ courage, saying their sacrifices were a guarantee of peace in the country and assured them of full government support.
Commissioner Bannu Division Khalid Mehmood, DIG Bannu Sajjad Khan, Brigadier Naveed Ahmed, Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Faheem Khan, FC Commandant Zulfiqar and DPO Saleem Abbas Kulachi were also present. They were briefed on the overall security situation in Bannu division.
Chief Secretary pledged full government support for the families of martyrs and injured, adding that all resources would be used to root out the terrorism.
