Governor of Balochistan, Jaffar Khan Mandokhel, has expressed his enthusiasm for strengthening ties between Pakistan and Japan, particularly in the areas of technology, infrastructure development, and investment. During a meeting with Honorary Consul General of Japan, Syed Nadeem Shah, and Director Japan Consulate, Israr Adeel, at the Governor House in Quetta, Governor Mandokhel highlighted the special respect the people of Balochistan have for the Japanese.
The Governor appreciated Japan’s contributions to Balochistan, including the construction of the world’s second-largest steel bridge, road development projects, provision of vehicles and containers for Quetta Metropolitan Corporation, and donation of modern medical equipment to Bolan Medical Hospital. He also acknowledged Japan’s support in teacher capacity building programs and the establishment of a special educational institution for deaf and dumb children in Quetta.

Governor Mandokhel emphasized the potential for collaboration between Japanese industries and public sector universities in Balochistan, particularly in the higher education sector, which is rapidly developing. He suggested that scholarships for university students and joint ventures between Japanese industries and Balochistan’s universities could have a positive impact on the province’s economy and education system.
The Governor also invited Japanese investors to explore lucrative opportunities in Balochistan, particularly in the fisheries sector, which has vast potential for development along the province’s coastal belt. He assured Japanese investors of the government’s commitment to providing protection and support for their investments.
