Hub, September 11, 2025 —
Following recent heavy rains, the water level in Hub Dam has risen sharply, prompting the Deputy Commissioner to issue an advisory for residents. According to a handout released by the District Administration, spillways may be opened at any time to discharge excess water, raising the risk of flooding.
Residents living near Hub River have been directed to immediately move to safer locations along with their livestock. The administration also warned sand and gravel extraction units and stone-crushing plant owners to vacate machinery and workers from the riverbed without delay.
Authorities confirmed that due to torrential rains in Dareji and Saroona, the water level in Hub Dam has reached 338 feet, leaving only one foot of capacity before spillover. Citizens have been strictly warned to avoid going near or attempting to cross floodwaters, as such actions could result in loss of life.
