Islamabad., Sept. 11: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) carried out eight operations across the country, including near educational institutions, arresting nine suspects and seizing drugs worth over Rs. 16 million, weighing a total of 153 kilograms.

According to the ANF spokesperson, two passengers were arrested near Kak Pul, Islamabad, with 1,200 grams of hashish, while another suspect near a university in Islamabad was caught with 76 grams of hashish and 245 grams of clonazepam drops. The suspect confessed to supplying drugs to students.

In other operations, 35 cocaine-filled capsules weighing 210 grams were recovered from a passenger at Allama Iqbal International Airport bound for Saudi Arabia. At a courier office in Hayatabad, Peshawar, a parcel destined for Lahore was found containing 890 ecstasy tablets weighing 536 grams.

In Pishin’s Yaro area, two separate actions led to the recovery of a total of 30 kilograms of hashish from motorcycle riders. On Hub Road, Karachi, 116.4 kilograms of hashish was seized from a vehicle, while at Chungi No. 26, Islamabad, 2.4 kilograms of opium and 2.4 kilograms of hashish were recovered from another suspect.

Cases have been registered against the arrested individuals under the Anti-Narcotics Act, and investigations are underway.
