A wreath-laying ceremony was held today to honor the supreme sacrifice of Pilot Officer Rashid Minhas Shaheed, Nishan-e-Haider. A smartly turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF), led by Air Vice Marshal Aamir Shahzad, Air Officer Commanding Southern Air Command, offered Fateha and laid a floral wreath at the grave of the national hero on behalf of Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force. The contingent paid rich tribute to the young pilot whose unmatched courage and unwavering resolve safeguarded the dignity of the motherland.

Later, Air Vice Marshal Aamir Shahzad also placed a floral wreath at the Martyrs’ Monument in the PAF Museum, Karachi. On this occasion, participants reaffirmed their pledge to make the Pakistan Air Force an impregnable shield for the nation, ever ready to confront challenges with professionalism and steadfastness. The ceremony also paid homage to the martyrs of Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, whose sacrifices remain etched in the annals of national history.

Pakistan Air Force Day serves as a solemn reminder of the indomitable spirit of PAF’s martyrs and veterans, who, through valor and sacrifice, thwarted enemy designs in the 1965 Indo-Pak War. Their heroic legacy continues to inspire generations, serving as a guiding light for Pakistan’s defenders.
