Quetta, Sept 7, 2025
Quetta is set to introduce its first women-only public bus service as part of a new fleet from China, according to the Balochistan Transport Department.

The fleet includes 21 modern buses, five of which are pink buses exclusively for female passengers, while 16 green buses will serve the general public. Routes will initially cover University to Sariab Mill, with plans to expand to Kuchlak.

Transport Secretary Khan Kakar confirmed the service aims to provide safer and more affordable commuting options for women. Similar buses are already operating in Punjab, Karachi, Peshawar, and Islamabad, improving urban transport systems.

Additional buses will soon be allocated to Gwadar, Turbat, Pishin, Khuzdar, and Sui to enhance public transit across the province.
