Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan, Haji Gulbar Khan, during his visit to Kondos, met with flood-affected residents and confirmed that 45 houses were damaged due to recent floods. He stated that the compensation policy for affected homes will be reviewed to ensure fairness and effectiveness.
The Chief Minister assured that the government is committed to the complete rehabilitation of flood victims and will undertake the construction of protective dams to prevent future disasters. He emphasized that every possible step will be taken to rebuild the damaged homes, and all government infrastructure will be reconstructed.
Haji Gulbar Khan also announced a special grant of PKR 50 million from the block allocation to accelerate the rehabilitation process, noting that recovery efforts in Gilgit-Baltistan are being implemented more effectively than in some other provinces.
He reaffirmed that the government stands firmly with the affected families during this crisis, promising that no one will be left alone and complete rehabilitation of all flood victims will be ensured.
