Quetta, Sep. 7, – Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti emphasized the importance of education as a fundamental right and a key to a bright future on International Literacy Day. He said education is the force that drives nations toward development, stability, and sustainable growth.
The Chief Minister highlighted that education goes beyond textbooks and curricula; it ensures economic empowerment, social harmony, and sustainable progress. Over the past year, the Balochistan government recruited 8,500 new teachers on a transparent merit-based system, reopened over 1,200 schools, and provided education to more than 90,000 children.
Mir Sarfraz Bugti also introduced the Benazir Bhutto Scholarship Program, which, for the first time, offers educational opportunities for families of civilian martyrs, minorities, and transgender individuals. In the upcoming fiscal year, 1,200 new community schools will be established to provide education to over 150,000 children.
The Chief Minister urged the public to consider education a national responsibility and to cooperate with the government to ensure every child in Balochistan has access to quality education.
