Islamabad, Sep. 6 — The Islamabad Police observed Defence Day 2025 and the 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal (Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ) with solemn prayers, Quran recitation and heartfelt tributes to the martyrs of the nation.
The day began at the Police Lines mosque with Quran Khwani and special prayers for the Muslim Ummah, the martyrs of Pakistan, and the peace and prosperity of the country.
Extending warm greetings on Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, said the birth of the Holy Prophet ﷺ was the greatest blessing for humanity. “The Seerat-un-Nabi ﷺ teaches us love, brotherhood, justice, and service to humanity,” he said, urging all to embody the teachings of the Prophet ﷺ in their lives.
To mark Defence Day, IG Rizvi offered Fateha at the Police Shuhada Monument and laid a floral wreath in honour of the fallen heroes. He highlighted that September 6 is an eternal chapter in Pakistan’s history, symbolizing the unity of the armed forces and the nation in defeating enemy designs.
He praised the sacrifices of the armed forces and Islamabad Police martyrs, recalling that operations like Bunyad-ul-Marsous stand as proof of Pakistan’s unwavering resolve to defend its sovereignty. “Our martyrs and ghazis made Pakistan proud through their courage and sacrifices, and they will always remain our inspiration,” he added.
