The Islamabad Food Authority (IFA) has intensified its crackdown on food establishments across the city, inspecting 59 food points under the supervision of Deputy Director Operations. As a result, 48 food points received improvement notices, while 4 were sealed on the spot for violating food safety regulations.

Penalties and Confiscation:

– Five food establishments were fined Rs. 95,000 for poor sanitation and non-compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
– During the operation, 80.83 kilograms/liters of substandard and non-compliant food items were confiscated and destroyed.

Commitment to Food Safety:

The Director of the Islamabad Food Authority emphasized that providing citizens with safe and quality food is the top priority. The authority will continue to take strict action against those selling substandard and non-compliant food items. This crackdown reflects the IFA’s commitment to ensuring food safety and protecting public health in Islamabad.
