Quetta, September 1: A high-level meeting was held under the chairmanship of Vice Chairman of the Balochistan Board of Investment and Trade, Bilal Khan Kakar, and Secretary Energy, Government of Balochistan, Muhammad Dawood Bazai. The meeting discussed in detail the establishment of solar plants in LIEDA and the utilization of Low BTU gas in Sui and Kalat.
On the occasion, Bilal Khan Kakar said that the Government of Balochistan is committed to promoting sustainable energy projects under investment-friendly policies. He stated that LIEDA’s more than 250 active industrial units provide investors with a significant competitive advantage, which can be further enhanced under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.
He added that renewable energy projects, particularly solar, are essential not only to meet industrial requirements but also to address the energy shortage in remote areas of Balochistan. “Our vision is to make Balochistan a hub of energy and industrial activities. By utilizing our local resources such as solar energy and Low BTU gas, we will achieve sustainable development and open new doors for domestic and foreign investors,” he remarked.
The meeting was also attended by Provincial Director of the Energy Department, Nawaz Bugti; Muhammad Waseem Asghar and Haider from the House of Qasib; Zubair from Solar Tech Pvt. Ltd. and Muzaffar, Liaison Officer from Dubai, UAE.
Participants expressed keen interest in investment opportunities in Balochistan’s energy sector and assured the government of their fullest cooperation.
