The HBL Pakistan Super League 6 started with a glittering opening ceremony today with an entertainment-packed event, including renowned artists, Atif Aslam, Imran Khan, Humaima Malick, Naseebo Lal, Aima Baig and Young Stunners.
Singer Atif Aslam was the first to perform and he began with his famous song ‘Aadat’ that brought him to limelight more than a decade ago.
International singer Imran Khan raised the roof next with the ‘Amplifier’ song, with actress Humaima Malick performing next to him.
Naseebo Lal, Aima Baig and the Young Stunners brought an end to the performances in style by grooving to the official anthem of this season’s HBL PSL.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ehsan Mani thanked the sponsors and fans for continuously supporting the league and making it one of the biggest brands in Pakistan. Mani also appreciated the provincial governments of Sindh and Punjab for providing adequate security arrangements for the tournament.
The HBL PSL 6 opening ceremony had some parts filmed offshore in a specially designed studio space in Turkey.
As has been the tradition in earlier editions, the opening ceremony will be followed by the first-match of the season in which defending champions Karachi Kings will play Quetta Gladiators.
CM Buzdar congratulates PCB for start of PSL 6
Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has congratulated Pakistan Cricket Board, all the teams, national and international players and expressed well wished for them on the start of Pakistan Super League 6.
He said that the Pakistani people are excited to watch the matches.
Limited spectators will be able to go to the stadium due to Corona. The matches will provide recreational activities to the cricket lovers and chance to bring new talent into the lime light. Holding of PSL-6 will give the message to the world that Pakistan is a peace loving country.
He directed to ensure the best arrangements for the matches to be played in Lahore.
